An admirable lack of enthusiasm

From the Youtube vaults. Van Morrison performing on American Bandstand in 1967. His open lack of enthusiasm is rather wonderful. Exactly what caused it is unclear. He is singing Brown Eyed Girl, a song he didn’t think much of. So, he either had had enough of singing what he viewed as a throw away song, was annoyed about becoming commercial, or had stage fright.

Either way, it’s a classic.
